PAST PLAYERS
Hawarden Rangers FC has played a part in the production of a number of talent recognised on worldwide levels.
The most well-known player to pull on a Rangers jersey is local boy Michael Owen, who has turned out for some of the world's biggest clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
But that's not the full story, as the list below of our most notable alumni shows:
MICHAEL OWEN
Chester-born Michael Owen grew up in the village and still lives only a short distance away from the Gladstone, our home.
Michael needs no introduction to a football fan. One of the greatest goal scorers ever to grace the game, he simply knows where the net is and showed that firstly for Liverpool, before making moves to Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City.
Michael, who was a pupil at Hawarden High School, also enjoyed an illustrious international career and remains fourth on the all-time goalscoring list behind Sir Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker and Jimmy Greaves. He is also the only Englishman to score in four major tournaments.
Set to retire at the end of the 2012/13 season in the red and white of Stoke City, Michael once scored 96 goals in 24 games for our under 12s side.
IAN RUSH
Ian Rush, born in St. Asaph, had a stint in the blue of the Hawarden Rangers Youth team at the age of 15.
Rush grew up in nearby Flint and bagged 32 goals in 19 appearances in one season after signing.
He went on to play for Liverpool, Newcastle, Chester City, Juventus, Sheffield United, Wrexham and Sydney Olympic, and managed Chester for a short period.
He is now McDonald's Head of Welsh Football and regarded as one of the true legends of the game. No Liverpool fan should be unaware of Ian Rush.

BARRY HORNE
Barry Horne is another player to don the Hawarden Rangers shirt and go on to become a professional footballer.
A former Wales international, Barry played for ten clubs - including Wrexham, Everton, Birmingham CIty and Southampton.
Horne captained Wales and won the FA Cup with Everton in 1995, and was part of the same Rangers team as Ian Rush.
He is currently a director at Wrexham Football Club and a teacher at the King's School in Chester.
ANDREW DORMAN
Andrew Dorman is currently playing at American outfit New England Revolution, the club where he made his name as a professional.
Dorman moved out to Boston on a scholarship to pursue a career in the game, and made his way up to the first team before moving back to the UK. He joined Scottish side St. Mirren before moving to Crystal Palace, where he went on loan to Bristol Rovers.
But now Dorman, who has been capped by Wales, is back where it all in began in the MLS.
IAN EDWARDS
Ian Edwards played in the same side as Ian Rush and Barry Horne in our Youth team. He went on to enjoy a professional career with West Brom, Chester CIty, Wrexham and Crystal Palace.
DAVID BRETT
David Brett played for our Youth side before joining Colwyn Bay and then Chester City where he made 67 appearances.
