Friday 4th April saw Hawarden Rangers Under 15s welcome FCHC Paladins from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. to play a friendly at the Gladstone Arena. The Paladins travelled across the pond on a 9 day tour and had played friendly matches against Lesco College, London, TNS and Barton FC before taking on the Under 15s in front of a capacity crowd who were hoping to catch a glimpse of a future MLS Star. Corey Jones gave Hawarden the lead after 20minutes however the Paladins attack posed a constant threat and the first half finished tied at 1-1. Hawarden made wholesale changes at half time to accommodate the 19 man squad who had turned out for the event and the game finished with the visitor winning 4 to 1 as the home team struggled to cope with the pace of the Paladins attacking line.
